Depeche Mode: Elementals is a massive 4 disc, 40 track compilation featuring brand new fan made remixes based on tracks from the 30 year back catalogue of Depeche Mode.
Bringing together some fantastic talent this is intended as a companion piece to the officially released album from Mute, which I'd highly recommend you seek out and purchase.
This album is done for the love of it. There is no financial incentive to this and if anybody tries to sell it on you are going against the very spirit of how it was conceived.
Music BY the Masses FOR the Masses.
From Black Sand (Chris Richards)
I had the original idea for Elementals as far back as 2009 (when I was still darkspringxl), but putting together a project of this complexity is not something that happens overnight. Work proper back in early 2011 and with the aid of Kaiser Soze, the man behind the brilliant DM Remixes Download Center, I was able to contact a number of people who were familiar with all things Depeche Mode. I also wanted to get people involved who had not previously had much or anything to do with the group, hoping they would bring new sounds and ideas to the project.
It was a slow process, but over time I was able to build up a fantastic and diverse selection of DJ's, remixers and producers who gave up their time to create some sensational mixes. My thanks go out to them for all of their efforts.
The past few months have seen me spend many hours, send many emails and listen to lots and lots of music in search of the ideal tracklisting for this project. With the expection of a couple of bumps the albums before you are as originally planned and even though I say so myself I think they're fantastic !
All main links are via mediafire. There may be still be some issue's with tagging (thanks to those who pointed out errors from the preview links I sent out) and all feature covers produced by the very talented Eric Mohier. My thanks to him for the amazing work he did for the project.
Alternative links are provided by Kaiser and hosted via dmremix.be
Any issues please mail me at audionemesis@yahoo.co.uk and I'll do my upmost to sort them out.
Most of all ENJOY ! Kind Regards - Chris

It was in late April when I randomly crossed the 'open invitation' to participate in Elementals. I hadn't done any mixing in two years but I felt it would be a nice idea to get back from the break.
From the time when I decided to stop making music there where a few unreleased mixes like Timbaland or german band Silbermond and of course some Depeche tracks.
After contacting Chris and sharing a few rehearsals for the tracks 'Lie To Me' & 'Something To Do' (from my past sessions) I decided to join the project but the tracks had still to be finished and mastered. While in the mastering process I felt a lot of fun in doing this and I wanted to contribute something new and so I asked Chris to challenge me and name any song he wanted to see and so the Charm Version of Strangelove was born.
I hope you've at least half of the fun in listening as i had in making the track. There are real chances for more to be released in the future.

Warganization.
Warganization formed in 2010 as a "revolving members" project where anyone who
wanted to participate/collaborate could, as often as they wanted, with the only
constant being Jack Morrison - who started the band in his kitchen in
Lafayette, LA. They released Propaganda EP in May of that year, along with a
handful of mixtapes, remixes, etc. and then came out with their first album
Propaganda LP in late November. The project is now reheasrsing to play live in
Los Angeles this summer, continuing to record new material, including
remixes,mixes, etc. http://warganization.co.cc

Both Propaganda EP & LP are available for free download on the site, with Propaganda LP being the first release to be physically available as well.
ATOM
ATOM is Matt Inconiglios. He has been experimenting with sound since he re-wired his AM radio to play through an old guitar amplifier as a child. Excited by the possibilities of sound manipulation through electronics, ATOM now mixes music, sounds, dialogue, and whatever else he can find to create a surreal sonic painting, steeped in dance beat.
Inspired by the works of The Orb, Akufen, Meat Beat Manifesto, Josh Wink, and Luke Vibert, ATOM creates mixes and original tracks using elements of the entire sound spectrum, ranging from classical music, to electronic beats, to found sounds of everyday life.
Growing up DJing at all types of parties, events, and clubs, ATOM sharpened his skills of dance music mixing... constantly interjecting elements of surprise. Turntables, samplers, computers - ATOM now harnesses whatever gear he needs to take listeners on an impressive, and oddly hallucinogenic journey. Having rocked parties for everybody from Bruce Springsteen to Moby, ATOMÕs live DJ sets are always an audio delight.
Whether its a chorus of crickets from a backyard, two notes of a blues harmonica player, or a funked-out 1980s electro beatbox loop, ATOM will take sound samples from any source and morph them together to get his point across. He’s also been known to perform under the aliases of Precious Roy, Arthur Pfund, and Matt Inc.

Currently ATOM operates his own record label, Cotopaxi Music, in addition to performing at various events (both live and DJ), and designing various graphics and commercial art projects. His signature minimal yet funky, found-house sound is inspired by many influences - the microhouse techno scene in both Montreal & Germany, the mashup phenomenon, afro-soul funk, pop radio from the 70's, etc. His objective: interesting tracks that makes you wiggle Ð fresh house music with hints of past flavors.

I got on a turntable for the first time one morning after a rave when i was about 15 and now I am.....well.... (not 15) and have spun in Hawaii, San Fran, L.A., Seattle, Tacoma, PDX, Mexico City and Colorado. I was born in Portland Oregon, which is currently where i am living again.
Through it all....music is still my boyfriend. I dont know much about reading or writing music, notes ect; but know how i want it to sound in my head, so after being shown the technical part visually via computer about 6 years ago, a whole new whirled opened for me learning to remix and make my own music.......and now yer about caught up mostly
Andreaux
Andreaux (born February 12th, 1973 in Belfort, France) is a French Music Producer.
He has played a significant role in quite a lot of bands and artist’s life in the past 17 years. His first band, Guillotine Chorus - although never made it to a record press - pioneered the electronic and synth-pop music scene in the early 90s. He took part in different projects and produced music for other artists, signed numerous original productions, official covers as well as bootleg remixes of well-known names (Depeche Mode, Mylène Farmer, Ace Of Base, David Guetta, Yazoo, The Jackson 5, Nox, DaMage, etc.) until just recently, when he emerged with own tracks under his own project name: Andreaux
A few words about the mixes:
Personal Jesus (Metamorphosis Mix)
The Metamorphosis Mix is a combination of electronic and acoustic sounds blended together, progressing from a distorted electric guitar and acoustic drum kit to a pumping dance rhythm and bouncing techno bassline. The primary goal was to preserve the song's general soul as much as possible while adding that typical Andreaux signature to the whole.
World In My Eyes (Sightless Mix)
This all started with a Moog Modular bass patch so intense it brought the whole piece to life. I tried to stay as close as possible to the ambience of the original, while injecting my analogue/electronic colouring into the whole thing. The psychedelic guitar is courtesy of DaMage.
Enjoy The Silence (Painful Words Mix)
This is a complete rework of the song trying to keep the core ambiance but with my own touch and spiced up to blend in a dance club. While featuring original vocals, almost everything else has been reengineered from ground up using sounds from the legendary Emulator II and Emulator III's sounds blended with other analogue sound sources.
